5,800 pounds of paper shredded at Madison Co. waste shredding and textile collection

(WSYR-TV) — (WSYR-TV) — The Madison County Department of Solid Waste held its spring shredding event on Saturday in Canastota.

Recycling coordinator Kristin Welch says over 170 households dropped off their confidential documents for shredding — an estimated 5,800 pounds of paper.

County residents also dropped off clothes, blankets, and shoes as part of the textile collection.
