(WSYR-TV) — The New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge is the American League home run king after blasting his 62nd home run of the season Tuesday night. Judge surpasses former Yankee Roger Maris’ record set 61 years ago in 1961.

Home run 62 came in the second game of a doubleheader against the Texas Rangers. History came in the 1st inning. Judge belted the ball over the left field fence and it landed in Section 31 at Globe Life Field.
