New York State is making progress in fighting HIV and AIDS with new cases falling by 79 percent over the last 25 years, but local health leaders say much more can be done.

ACR Health is kicking off their annual AIDS Educational Campaign with the painting of a red stripe down South Salina Street in Syracuse.

The community health group is encouraging everyone to get tested.

A Syracuse woman says her 32-year-old son died of AIDS last December— in part because he never got tested.

ACR Health will be holding their annual 5k walk on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Beaver Lake Nature Center as part of their education campaign.
