An Upstate New York-born comic strip seen around the world is honoring another home-grown celebrity in a series of upcoming panels.
B.C. will feature references to April the Giraffe and Animal Adventure Park the week following the park’s opening on May 13th.
One of the gags involves a bit of envy on the part of Gronk the Dinosaur over the amount of attention April and her calf have received.
Brothers Mason and Mick Mastroianni took over creating the script after their grandfather and B.C. creator Johnny Hart died.
“I thought, how neat would it be to do something for the opening of the park. Do some jokes about the giraffe, about the nature of the giraffe and tie it in with the area,” said Mason.
“We definitely love the whole idea of B.C. and the civic pride. We definitely want to continue what my grandpa did. He was always very generous,” said Mick.
The strips are scheduled to run Monday May 15th through Saturday May 20th.
