Atlas Linen closes

Local News

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Dozens of workers at Atlas Linen in Syracuse are facing an uncertain future after the business closed on Friday.

A representative with Workers United tells us the plant closed this past Friday. The union represented about 95% of the production workers.

Employees first learned that the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection at their Christmas luncheon.

There was an interested buyer from Florida, but when they requested a week extension, a lienholder turned down the request.

There is no work on how many jobs will be affected.
