Boonville woman facing animal cruelty charges for allegedly neglecting miniature horses

BOONVILLE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A Boonville woman is facing animal abuse charges after investigators say she didn’t provide proper care for two miniature Welch horses.

Officials say both horses, owned by Belinda Bosschaart, had extremely overgrown hooves. The horses are now in the care of the CNY SPCA.

“I have been an investigator in one shape or matter here for 17 years, and it’s the worst I have seen as far as overgrown hooves,” said William Pulaski.

An anonymous tip spurred the investigation.

Bosschaart was given an appearance ticket for Boonville Town Court.
