Carmelo Anthony honored with Chancellor’s Medal from Syracuse University

A memorable night for some of SU’s most notable African American and Latino alumni, including Carmelo Anthony.

The former SU basketball star, now New York Knick returned to Syracuse for the Coming Back Together reunion.
 
A triennial Coming Back Together reunion invites the University’s African American and Latino alumni to return to campus and engage with the University, current students and one another.
 
Carmelo was the honored recipient of the Chancellor’s Medal for Philanthropy, one of the highest honors an alum can receive.
 

In 2006, the Giving Back Fund ranked Anthony in its top 10 of the “Giving Back 30” report surrounding celebrity philanthropists in America.

Anthony thanked fellow alumni like Dave Bing, Taye Diggs and Floyd Little, adding that he wouldn’t be standing on stage without them.
 
Coach Jim Boeheim was also in attendance. Coach called Anthony the single most impactful player in his coaching career.
