CENTRAL NEW YORK (WSYR-TV) — The Olympic torch is making its way through the state as it gears up for this summer’s Special Olympic games and is making a stop in Central New York on Wednesday.

Many members of Ithaca’s law enforcement community will be taking part in the Special Olympic torch run on Wednesday morning in Tompkins County.

This is one of 60 runs that takes place across the state and has been bringing law enforcement officers and athletes together for more than 30 years.

The run is to raise awareness for the games that will take place June 14th and 15th in Dutchess County.
