Today is Thursday,  Aug. 31– Day 9 of the Great New York State Fair!

It’s Armed Forces Day and Dairy Day.

Armed Forces Day allows free admission to any active duty or veteran with military identification (Military ID Card, form DD-214 or NYS Driver License, Learner Permit or non-driver ID card with a veteran designation).

At 2 p.m., you can catch Skid Row at Chevy Court. LeAnn Rimes take the Chevy Court stage at 8 p.m.

If you want to meet your favorite NewsChannel 9 reporters and anchors, they will be available at our spot near the dairy products building at the following times:

11a-Noon Sistina Giordano and TeNesha Murphy
1p-2p Farah Jadran and Sean Martinelli
2p-3p Jim Teske and Steve Infanti
3p-4p Dan Cummings and Christie Casciano

Everyday, you can catch other musical performances at the Empire Theater, the NYS Grange Stage or the Empire Experience Stage.

You can also catch various animal shows and competitions throughout the day.

To celebrate Dairy Day, come enjoy the local celebrity milkshake contest and other fun activities during the day. Join later on for the Special Day Parade at 6:00 p.m.

Be sure to stop by the Dairy Product Building  and visit with State Dairy Princesses, enjoy a cup of cold white or chocolate milk at the State Fair Milk Bar and get a picture of the famous butter sculpture.

Look out for the Armed Forces Day ceremonies at 11:00 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial.
