SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The CNY Brain Aneurysm Awareness Campaign presented the Crouse Health Foundation with proceeds from their annual Melt Away the Winter Blues event.
The event, held in early February at Drumlins Country Club, raised $9,000 for brain aneurysm, AVM and hemorrhagic stroke patients, research and awareness.
This year’s event honoree was Dr. Raghu Ramaswamy of Crouse Neuroscience Institute. The emcee was NewsChannel 9’s Lindsay Raychel, the weekend morning meteorologist.

At the end of April, brain aneurysm survivors, caregivers and family members from the Joe Niekro Foundation Syracuse and Rome support groups went to the NYS Senate to confirm the month of September as Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month in New York state.
At 6 p.m. on June 5, the campaign will host a Chalk and Talk at Joe’s Beerasium. Attendees will experience the new trend of Do-It-Yourself Home Decor and leave with a handmade sign. Proceeds from the event will go towards the campaign. If you are interested in participating you can click here.
