CHITTENANGO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) Storms that moved through Central New York have left some with quite the cleanup.
One family in Chittenango says they’re grateful they’re alright after a tree fell onto the home.
“Felt like an explosion went off,” said Patricia Leggett.
“We never expected it, it was just like anything, it just up and happened,” said Karl Woods.
The father and daughter were at Woods home when the storm hit.
“The wind started to pick up, we heard like a whirling noise I guess it was,” said Leggett. “I heard the tree crack and went back in the living room and the tree had fallen and shook the whole house.”
They now have to deal with the cleanup but they know it could have been much worse.
After tense and scary moments, they’re glad everyone is safe.
“Yesterday there was about 25-30 of us in the kitchen so if that were to come yesterday, fell threw the roof there, it could have killed someone,” said Woods.
