SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The CNY SPCA is reducing, and in some instances waiving, their adoption fees for available dogs.
The agency says they are overcrowded, and with handling animal cruelty cases, many of their kennels are occupied by animals that can’t be adopted out.
- Dogs one to seven years old will be $75.
- Dogs eight to 10 years old will be $50.
- Any dog over the age of 10 will have its adoption fee waived.
The organization says between cruelty cases and hoarding cases, they have 66 kennels that cannot be used, and they can’t take owner surrenders. The 66 kennels are occupied by both cats and dogs.
