ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — If you go by a Dunkin’ Donuts on Friday, chances are you will see a police officer on the roof. But don’t be alarmed! It is all to raise money for a good cause.
Officers are at more than 35 locations to raise awareness and money for the Special Olympics of New York.
The Cops on Top campaign has been growing in size every year. Officers say they enjoy events like this that allow them to take part in the community.
“You can see, you can hear the laughing and joking around. We really have a great time. All these people are out here. Officers at every agency are excited when events like these come around,” said Lt. Christopher Koeppe of the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
And if you are able to give, it’s a win-win. Dunkin’ Donuts if offering guests a coupon for a free doughnut as a thank you for donating.
