SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) CoreLife Eatery is hard at work on opening a new store in Fairmount Fair this September, but celebrating the fourth birthday of its original location.

The store on Buckley Road in North Syracuse opened on May 6, 2015.

Some of the people working there now are the same ones who were there at the beginning.

Linda Viggiano is one and she remembers, “We were here five or six weeks before we opened and we just kept practicing and practicing and practicing until we got it right.”

The plan from the beginning, and still is, to offer clean, fresh, healthy food quickly.

Carol Robinson has also been there since day one.

“I love the customers, I love talking to them.  I love everyday the same people come in and I love knowing about their families and their kids,” she tells NewsChannel 9.

CoreLife is opening store 53 in Akron, Ohio this week and store 54 in Ann Arbor, Michigan next week.

“I’ve been to quite a few and they all have their special local vibe but there’s definitely something about being the first that makes it awesome,” says Meggan Camp who has been part of CoreLife from the beginning.

Menu options have grown, there’s too many locations to even count, but one things remains the same, the original location will forever be the first for CoreLife.

“We call this the mother ship, and we’re proud of it, we’re very proud we’re the beginners,” Viggiano says.

Camp adds, “I have to say there is sort of a magic here.”

They say it’s in large part because of all the customers who’ve also been there since day one.
