CORTLAND, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A Cortland man is facing animal abuse charges after investigators say he failed to provide necessary veterinary care for his dog.

The Cortland County SPCA’s office says Adam Rundell was charged with one count of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals and failure to provide proper sustenance.

The dog was taken to Cornell Companion Animal Hospital for treatment because of the severity of its injuries. The dog is expected to receive treatment for at least four to six weeks.

Rundell will be in court on August 26th.
