Cortland mayor working to ensure Parker School building gets used after it closes

Local News

CORTLAND, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — In June, the Parker School in Cortland will officially be closing its doors after 91 years.

The closures were announced just less than a year ago and since then, the mayor’s office has been working to make sure the empty space does not go without a new purpose.

Wednesday night, a task force aimed at filling the empty halls will be presenting their plan for the closed school’s new occupants.

The plan includes three child care providers expanding their programs at the school.

If you’d like to learn more about the new neighbors in Cortland, the meeting is Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Parker School.
