Local News

JORDAN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A fire is under investigation in Jordan that caused damage to a brick house on Railroad Street on Saturday morning.

The Jordan Fire Chief said the fire started in the second-floor apartment and two people were able to get themselves out. A third person on the first floor was woken up by smoke detectors.

He says the investigation is near being complete, and at this point, he’s blaming smoking for starting the fire.

Jordan Fire Department, Jordan Police, and multiple ambulances were called to the scene.
