More bad news for customers of Alfred Angelo Bridal–the company now says they will not be fulfilling orders.
Carolyn Nelson put an order in for her dream “mother-of-the-groom” dress about 8 weeks ago.
“I found the dress I loved, it fit, it was beautiful. I was so looking forward to wearing that dress,” she says.
When Alfred Angelo closed their doors, Nelson held out hope, but had questions.
She asked, “Do I wait and get a phone call? Are they going to call? What’s my next step?”
Thursday, she found out for sure that her dream dress would never be a reality.
In the last few weeks Nelson says she has gotten two notices of bankruptcy.
One of them was from Alfred Angelo Newco, Inc., the other from AA Bridal Northeast LLC. Both statements say she can file and may get her money back by 2018.
“I am going to file with both of the bankruptcy courts. I am also going to file with the State Attorney General,” says Nelson. “I’ve got nothing to lose at this point except the money I’m already out, so I may as well follow it through and see where it takes us.”
Luckily, Nelson had a hunch this would happen. She found a new dress– it’s the same color but a different style, and less of a dream.
“Trying to get yourself in the right frame of mind to buy another dress is not easy. It really isn’t. It’s tough, because you wanted that dress,” she adds.
