Congressional candidate Dana Balter met with voters Sunday afternoon.
Even though fellow Democrat Juanita Perez Williams has gotten financial support from the national level, Balter says she’s moving ahead with her campaign for the 24th District.
“I think where the power is in politics, is with the people,” Balter said. “I have support from people in this district. I have the support of the Democratic Party in this district. At home, on the ground, that’s where the work happens.”
Balter does have support from all four county party committees in the 24th Congressional District. But, Perez Williams could still force a primary on June 26th.
The winner will face incumbent Republican John Katko.
