The Medical Examiner has released the identity of the two people killed in a large fire at a home in South Bristol.
Deputies say the victims were 68-year-old Pamella Osinski and 74-year-old Vicky Todd.
The women were sisters who lived together in the home on County Road 33, according to RochesterFirst.com.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Multiple departments were called to the home along County Route 33 around 8:30 p.m. The home is in a remote area near Bristol Mountain.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office began getting emergency calls for reports of an explosion. In that rural area, investigators say it was the volume of calls which allowed them to narrow down the exact location to the single-family house.
Firefighters faced challenges. With no hydrants in the area, they had to haul in water from a distance. It took them around two hours to knock it down. The road was shut down for some time as they worked.
