Deputies identify man killed in Pompey crash

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man killed in a crash in the town of Pompey Wednesday evening. 

Deputies say on Dec. 19 around 7:40 p.m., a pickup truck traveling southbound on Sweet Road crashed into the back of a combine farm truck that had been stopped in the southbound lane to off load crop into a trailer that was parked in the northbound lane.

The pickup driver, 58-year-old William Miner, was killed in the crash.

His passenger, a 14-year-old girl, was sent to Upstate where she remains in critical but stable condition. 

The operator of the farm equipment was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation. 

The investigation is ongoing.
