Deputies: Syracuse man sexually assaulted developmentally disabled woman

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a developmentally disabled woman, whom he did not know.

According to Deputies, 32-year-old Rubin Jones, of Peck Avenue, sexually assaulted a 28-year-old behind a vacant building in the 1800 block of Teall Avenue near Shop City Plaza.

The victim told her family about the assault, which deputies say took place Saturday morning, and they reported it to the Sheriff’s Office.

Jones has been charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sex act, two counts of second-degree criminal sex act and first-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person. 

Detectives continue to investigate the incident and urge the public to call the Sheriff’s Tip Line with any information by dialing 315-435-3051.
