A Wayne County woman is facing charges after she left her eight-month-old child alone in a bathtub.
Deputies and EMS responded to the home of 24-year-old Samantha Thomas, of Palmyra, on July 29 for the report of an eight-month-old child not breathing after being left unattended in a bathtub.
A neighbor had performed CPR on the child prior to EMS arrival and was able to revive the child. The child was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
Thomas was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree reckless endangerment. She was arraigned in the Town of Palmyra Court and released on her own recognizance.
Thomas is to appear back in court at a later date to answer the charges.
