Local News

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The birthplace of baseball, Doubleday Field in Cooperstown is undergoing some major renovations.

Crews will be repainting, installing handrails and building a second floor.

The biggest project, however, is demolishing the cement bleachers that used to be behind third base.

The project totals $5.8 million, which means it will take some time, but we’re told the goal is to have everything completed by summer 2020.
