A driver has been ticketed for speeding after a 90-year-old was killed when the vehicle she was riding in was involved in a crash in DeWitt, according to police.
On March 5 at 1:30 p.m., a Pontiac driven by 88-year-old Paul Hotaling was pulling out of a Kwik Fill on Manlius Center Road when it was hit by another vehicle traveling eastbound.
The driver of that vehicle, 26-year-old Sheyanna Lewis, was ticketed for driving 63 mph in a 40 mph zone.
Paul and his passenger, 90-year-old Doris Hotaling, were sent to Upstate University Hospital.
On March 6, Doris succumbed to her injuries.
Lewis and her passenger were treated at the hospital and released.
