SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A sold-out crowd was on hand at NBT Bank Stadium on Wednesday as the Syracuse Mets hosted their final Education Day game of the season.
Students and teachers get to enjoy the game, along with a combined education component. Students are using their phone to experience an augmented reality game and scan QR codes around the stadium. Each code gives them a question that combines traditional school subjects with baseball.
“All the credit goes out to the teachers and the administrators that let these kids come out and get some outside the classroom educational opportunity,” said Jason Smorol, General Manager of the Syracuse Mets.
