LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Your commute on Electronics Parkway in Liverpool may have been a little bit busier than usual for the last few weeks. A number of viewers have reached out to ask us: what’s going on with the construction there?
Although it’s a pain now, the goal of the multi-million dollar project should make the commute through the section of the busy road much smoother.
“Salina is growing, Liverpool is growing, Clay is booming. So this is a very busy corridor for us and we know that, so we’ve made it a priority to get it addressed,” said Onondaga DOT Commissioner Martin Voss.
The county is widening the roads by narrowing the center medians. That will allow for a bike path and a sidewalk. They’re also tackling the issue of flooding near the thruway by putting in a new drainage system.
And those pesky red lights?
They’re synchronizing the traffic lights from Old Liverpool Road all the way down to Vine Street.
While the rain we’ve been having isn’t helping, the county is working hard to get things done sooner rather than later.
