Empire Brewery files for bankruptcy

CENTRAL NEW YORK (WSYR-TV) — A popular brewery in Central New York and one of the biggest in the state is now filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Empire Farmstand Brewery filed the paperwork on Tuesday. Owner David Katleski says the 42,000 square foot brewery in Cazenovia is staying open, but looking to reorganize.

Empire beers are sold in many locations across Central New York, across the country and even overseas.

The company employs nearly 100 people.
