A former Onondaga County jail deputy who was charged in connection with a violent sexual assault on a child in the village of Solvay was sentenced on Monday.
Jack Doolittle was already in custody when investigators linked him to the 1997 incident using DNA evidence.
He was arraigned on an array of charges, including two counts of first-degree sodomy, first-degree attempted rape, and kidnapping.
Doolittle has pleaded guilty in August to first-degree sodomy.
On Monday, he was sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison.
