A family of four forced from their home following a fire on the northside of Syracuse is getting help from the American Red Cross.
Only one person was inside when the fire started in the back of the home and spread to the roof just before 7 p.m. Sunday on Kirkpatrick Street.
Firefighters had to cut a hole in the roof to get it under control.
No one is allowed to get back inside tonight, but a deputy chief thinks the damage can be fixed.
Fire investigators are now looking into what caused the fire.
