Family-owned business boosts ‘Cuse with March Madness message on I-690 Eastbound

Local News

If your daily commute includes a drive down I-690 Eastbound past the Fairgrounds — your Orange Nation spirit is likely to kick up a notch.

The owners of Clark Equipment Rental & Sales simply love the Syracuse Orange.

Since football season, brothers Adam and Matt Clark decided to use one of their many electronic road signs to spread ‘Cuse spirit.

When the Orange played Boston College — it was “Pluck the Eagles!” When they played Pitt, it was “De-claw the Panthers!”

The latest message for March Madness featuring the men’s basketball team’s matchup is on the marquee — “Go Syracuse! Baylor Bears are Barely Ballers!”

This one took some brainstorming before posting it.

“It’s funny,” said Matt, president of Clark Equipment Rental & Sales. “People are like, that’s a really good saying. We really enjoy it while we’re going into to work or coming back from work so people get a kick out of it.”

Adam says the NCAA Tournament message was fun and required some brainstorming from the crew.

The Clarks say their company often gets calls and emails from people who do not need construction equipment, but want to compliment the sign or even make a suggestion for a future “good luck” post.

Clark Equipment Rental & Sales is located at 559 State Fair Blvd. in Syracuse.

The business opened in 2005.
