Feldmeier Equipment is putting out an urgent call for workers to join it’s team in the company’s Syracuse headquarters and Little Falls plants.
A booming economy has helped create a surge of orders to Feldmeier and the company says it needs more employees to keep up with all the work.
The company is the largest maker of stainless steel sanitary tanks in North America for a wide range of industries.
David Pollack, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Feldmeier Equipment, says, “We are blessed with a significant and incredible amount of business but unfortunately for us to grow we have to have more employees. The employee count is key to our growth, without them our business will stay the same. We can only do so much through equipment and technology, we need people.”
He says the orders are coming from small mom and pop operations all the way up to well known Fortune 500 companies.
For instance, a current tank at the Syracuse plant is being finished to send off to Bayer for use in the pharmaceutical field.
That industry makes up almost all of the orders for the company’s two Syracuse plants, the new one opening over the summer on Old Thompson Road near Carrier Circle in DeWitt.
The Little Falls plants handle orders for the food, beverage, dairy and cosmetics industry.
“The scope of the activities are very similar within the two facilities. We need metal finishers, we need welders and we need machine operators also as we’re going and buying and bringing in more high tech equipment. We need people that are trained and talented to go run that equipment,” Pollack tells NewsChannel 9.
He adds the requirements are quite simple for anyone looking to join the Feldmeier team.
“You come in with a work ethic and ability to learn, we’ll train you,” he says.
Feldmeier will be holding a career fair in Little Falls on Saturday, Dec. 8 from 12:30 p.m. To 2:30 p.m. at the plant on 575 East Mill Street in Little Falls.
