Fifth arrest made in DeWitt Chili’s double homicide

A fifth person has been arrested in connection to the robbery and double homicide early Saturday at Chili’s on Erie Blvd. East.

Jerome C. Pinkard, 29, of Syracuse was arrested Wednesday night, according to DeWitt Police. Pinkard is charged with Criminal Sale of a Firearm in the 3rd degree.

DeWitt Police say Pinkard gave the gun used in the homicide to Tracy Brown. Brown then gave the gun to William Wood Jr.

Wood is facing two counts of Murder in the 1st degree and Robbery for the murders of Steve Gudknecht and Kris Hicks, both Chili’s employees.

Ronald Green, the man who police say drove the getaway car, was arrested Tuesday on two counts of Murder in the 2nd degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Police say Green had his two-year-old child in the car at the time.

Tracy Brown was arrested Tuesday and is charged with two counts of Murder in the 2nd degree. Her son Ryan Brown was also arrested Tuesday for Hindering Prosecution. Police say he was in the car that took Wood to Fulton after the crime.

Pinkard is in custody and is due in court Thursday morning.
