Firefighters knock down fire at Butternut Street home Friday night

Local News

(WSYR-TV) — Firefighters worked to knock down a fire at a Butternut home late Friday night, just a block away from a multi-apartment home a block away that was damaged by a fire Thursday night.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family displaced by a fire, according to Regional Communications Program Manager Dan Hartman.

Investigators have not yet determined the origin of the fire, but believe the fire started in the laundry room.

Everyone in the house at the time was alerted by working smoke detectors and no one was injured.
