Five people displaced after house fire in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, NEW YORK (WSYR-TV) – Five people were displaced after a house fire on Turtle Street in Syracuse.

It happened at 12:49 Wednesday morning at 610 Turtle Street.  When crews arrived, heavy fire was visible from the first floor and was extending to the second floor and the attic.  Crews initiated operations to extinguish the fire and search for potential victims.  No victims were found and the fire was under control within 30 minutes.

There were a total of four apartments and five people living in the building.  Officials say smoke detectors alerted the residents and they are now being assisted by the American Red Cross.  


The cause of the fire is under investigation.  There were no reported injuries at this incident.
