Former C-NS star Patrick Corbin pitches Washington to National League Title

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WSYR-TV) –

From the wild-card game to the World Series. The Washington Nationals completed the four-game sweep of St. Louis on Tuesday night with a 7-4 win at Nationals Park in Game 4 of the NLCS.

Former C-NS star Patrick Corbin got the start for the Nationals and was lights out from the start.

Corbin struck out the side in the first inning, as the Nationals plated seven runs in the first inning.

The 30-year-old lefty struck out a season-high 12 batters in five innings of work to earn the win.

Washington advances to their first World Series in franchise history.

The Nationals will face the winner Houston and New York. The Astros lead that American League Championship Series two games to one.
