A former high-profile Syracuse attorney is now a Level 1 sex offender.
Martin Rothschild, who pleaded guilty to child pornography charges in 2013, is currently serving a three-year sentence at Clinton Correctional Facility.
On Friday, an Onondaga County Court judge ruled that when Rothschild is released, he must register for 20 years as a Level 1 sex offender.
Mental health professionals told the court that Rothschild is considered at a “low-risk” to re-offend.
His photo, name and address will not be listed on the public sex registry, which is reserved for Level 2 and 3 offenders.
Rothschild could be released from prison as early as June.
