Last week, Democrat Andrew Maxwell decided to drop out of the race for Syracuse Mayor.

Maxwell cites losing his party’s nominating vote to Joe Nicoletti, despite losing by only three points.

Maxwell says, “I said from the start, that I got into this race to win and not having secured the Democratic designation, it essentially closed off a pathway to victory.”

Serving Mayor Stephanie Miner as Director of Policy and Innovation, Maxwell left his job at city hall so he could run.

As he figures out what to do next, Maxwell says he has no intentions of endorsing any of the other candidate.

He doesn’t know who he’s voting for yet.
