Four people escape from Syracuse house fire

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Fire Department crews helped four people escape from a house fire near Onondaga Park Thursday morning.

Onondaga County 911 dispatchers say the call first came in just before 5:30 a.m. to a home on West Bissell street, near Onondaga Avenue. Once there, firefighters found flames burning through the attic of the building.

Crews then helped to get four people out of the house. One person was taken to the hospital for injuries that were not related to the fire, but is expected to recover.

No firefighters were hurt, and the fire was put out in less than an hour.

Syracuse Fire Department, Syracuse Police officers and ambulance crews responded to the call.
