SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Friday was a great day to get moving, and that’s what more than 100 students did at NBT Bank Stadium.
They were joined by special guest–former New York Jets fullback Tony Richardson.
The students joined Richardson in “Fuel Up To Play 60,” a student-led in-school nutrition and physical activity program that shows kids the benefit of eating nutritious food and exercising at least 60 minutes a day.
“Now everything is built around holding these devices in our hand, whether that’s a video controller or a cell phone. You know, those things are fine, we all did it as youth, but let’s put those things down and get outside and get back to dribbling a basketball. Let’s get back to playing soccer, playing baseball, just being active with your classmates and enjoying doing it,” Richardson said.
Students at the stadium got to try healthy foods and got in some yoga and relay races.
