The Onondaga County Legislature Tuesday afternoon gave the okay to the Transportation Department’s 2017 Road Work Plan.
The plan includes hot mix paving, cold mix paving, preservation road sealing and some smaller bridge projects, a total of 90 lane miles worth of work.
Onondaga County Transportation Commissioner Marty Voss says, “We have staff out evaluating the roads all the time, both in the winter and spring/summer/fall to make sure we have an understanding of where we’re at and what needs to get done.”
The multi-week projects include repairs to the bridge that carries Caughdenoy Road over Youngs Creek in the Town of Clay.
Also on the list are repairs to the Highbridge Street bridge over the Snook’s Pond outlet.
Voss tells NewsChannel 9, “It’s a tricky little intersection down there too so there’s a lot of activity that needs to be coordinated to make that work.”
We’ll start seeing crews out on the roads in a few weeks carrying out the County Road Work Plan and Voss asks when we do use caution and slow down in work zones.
