SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) - Roses are red and violets are blue, but not everyone is looking for the "typical" Valentine's Day gift like flowers, chocolates or jewelry.
Glazed and Confused co-owner Sarah Valenti tells NewsChannel 9 the downtown Syracuse donut shop is "boxing up" love to give people an alternative for the day devoted to sweethearts.
Valenti says she and the team "do-nut" want anyone to miss out on some unique sweet treats for Valentine's Day.
"It's great for someone's office on Valentine's Day or for the kids," Valenti shared. "The kids really like it and have fun with it."
From 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., customers can stop by and pick up a box of love for $25 or buy some of the Valentine's Day specialty donuts separately.
Each Box of Love contains 12 Valentine's Day decorated donuts, candy and a poem.
Boxes of Love are ready for pickup, Valenti says there is no need to call or pre-order.
The first 77 customers to buy a Box of Love will receive a bonus treat, a custom heart-shaped donut from Crave Dessert Studio in Syracuse.
Last year, Valenti says the shop sold more than 4,000 donuts on Valentine's Day. Thursday morning, One customer was ready and waiting outside to pick up two boxes by 5 a.m.
