For the 11th year in a row — On Point for College is hosting Golf for Grads to fund numerous programs the organization provides to help low-income students enroll in college and complete vocational programs.
On Point is also working to help students maintain stability once they enter college. Additional assistance includes helping students buy books, find a place to live and at times, medical or dental care.
Each year, for the past 18 years, hundreds of students are enrolling college thanks to help from On Point.
This year’s Golf for Grad’s Tournament is set for Thursday, Aug. 17, at The Pompey Club.
Registration is still open. The event includes a lunch buffet starting at 11:30 a.m.
There will be a shotgun start for the captain and crew tournament. After golf, dinner will be served. A cash bar, raffles and awards ceremony will take place during dinner as well.
NewsChannel 9’s Farah Jadran will be out on the links with golfers and will serve as emcee for the dinner.
