OSWEGO COUNTY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — While the weekend might be shaping up to be the perfect weather to hit the trails and go for a hike, one trail in Oswego County is closed until further notice.
The DEC says the Gorge Trail at Salmon River Falls is closed for the foreseeable future. Deteriorating conditions have made it unsafe for hikers or anyone walking through the area.
The 600-foot trail leads from the Falls Trail to the bottom of the gorge. It’s steep and demanding. The trail was built in 2000 by the Adirondack Mountain Club Trail Crew.
