SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) Grab the shades and the wheels, May 19 is the annual kick-off of “Cycle in the City.”

The program offers free group bicycle rides one Sunday each month from May to October.

The Onondaga County Health Department and County Executive Ryan McMahon put the rides together to encourage people to get fit in a fun way while enjoying the sites of Syracuse.

Upcoming dates for the Sunday bicycle rides are June 16, July 14, Aug. 11, Sept. 8, and Oct. 6.

Riders must be 12 years old or older to participate and helmets are required for every rider. Rides are free and pre-registration is not required.
