Hercules Candy in East Syracuse ready for Valentine’s Day rush

EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Valentine’s Day and the weeks leading up to the holiday bring in a lot of business for local candy stores.

For Hercules Candy Company in East Syracuse, this time of year is hectic. But really, Co-Owner Terry Andrianos says it’s been a busy year overall for the store. Three years ago, they started a YouTube channel that has since taken off. Because of that following of more than 400,000 people, they opened up a new location a year and a half ago to keep up with the demand.

“It’s basically been a dream come true. This is what we always wanted, we didn’t know it would happen this way, but it’s been very gratifying,” said Terry Andrianos, Co-Owner of Hercules Candy.

The owners have put a map in the store to track their international visitors. Andrianos says even people from New Zealand and Africa have made a special stop at the store just to meet the people they’ve been following online.

The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Valentine’s Day.
