NEW YORK STATE (WSYR-TV) — Rising water on Lake Ontario is raising concerns for people who live along the shores of Lake Ontario.
The International Joint Commission, the international body that monitors the levels of the lake, met in Greece on Tuesday.
The IJC has a total of six members, three from the United States and three from Canada. Today, those that attended the meeting learned that the IJC didn’t have any updates. They say that there is nothing they can currently do to change the water levels on Lake Ontario.
The IJC says that this year’s flooding may surpass that of 2017, possibly reaching 248.95 feet within the next few days.
