ITHACA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — There is some new information surrounding the bad crash that happened in Ithaca on Tuesday night that sent five people to area hospitals.
Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies say the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday along State Route 13, also known as Elmira Road, near the entrance to Buttermilk Falls State Park.
Investigators say a 2017 Toyota pulled onto Elmira Road in front of a 2006 Volkswagen. Three people were taken to Cayuga Medical Center with minor injuries. Another person was taken to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayer, Pennsylvania with non-life threatening injuries, while a fifth person was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
