ITHACA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Ithaca Police are investigating a shooting incident after an officer on patrol heard gunshots coming from South Cayuga Street early Saturday morning.

Ithaca Police are investigating the incident, but there is no suspect information at this time.

“It’s troubling to hear about this incident in an area so close to downtown where there were potentially lots of people out and about. It’s fortunate nobody got hurt from this reckless and dangerous situation. If you have information that could assist IPD investigators with this investigation, please contact us or use our available tip line,” said Chief Tyler in a statement.

You can reach the Ithaca Police tip line at 607-330-0000
