Ithaca Police seeking tips after attempted armed robbery: On The Lookout

ITHACA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – Ithaca Police are putting neighbors On The Lookout after an attempted armed robbery early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to the 100 block of Oak Avenue around 2:21 a.m. just south of the Cornell University Campus.

The victim who was able to escape without injury told the police, that someone wearing a mask carrying a “large machete” type knife had run at them demanding property.

Officers were unable to locate the suspect at the scene or in the area.

The suspect was last running away on Oak Avenue.

Ithaca Police said their investigation is ongoing and that no further details are available for release at this time.
